EVENT RULES and Information for ARHS Project Graduation (“Senior Party”) on Friday, June 9, 2017
This is not a school-sponsored event
Location: The Mullins Center, back entrance from Lot 67. Take Massachusetts Avenue through UMass (it turns into North Hadley Road), take a right on Mullins Way across from the softball and soccer fields, and follow Mullins Way as it bears right until it ends at Lot 67, past the tennis courts.
Substance Policy: No alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes will be allowed under any circumstances. Prior to entering, students and guests will be searched, any banned items will be confiscated, and the student in possession risks losing the privilege to attend. Anyone who arrives intoxicated will be denied entry.
Arrival: Registered Seniors and Registered Guests will be admitted to the party on Friday, June 9, between 10:30 PM and midnight. No one will be admitted after midnight. Guests must arrive with their senior host. Bring all overnight items in advance; items in possession at arrival should be limited to a small hand bag that can be quickly and easily searched. Students may not bring drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, beverages, food, coolers, knives or other weapons, matches, lighters, or any other item or substance that is illegal or could pose a danger to participants. All belongings will be searched by chaperones. If banned items are found they will be removed and discarded. Confiscated items will not be returned.
Departure: All participants must depart no later than Saturday, June 10 at 2:30 AM. Students must take everything with them when they leave. Guests must leave with their senior host if the senior host leaves before 6 AM. You may not return to the party once you have left.
Transportation: Participants must be dropped off at the Mullins Center; they may not drive themselves there. Every person departing the event will be given a ride by one of the designated parent drivers who will be available to shuttle participants from the party to their homes. Parents/guardians may also pick up a child, but no student or guest may drive, leave unescorted, or walk home. Rides will be available only within Amherst, Pelham, Leverett, and Shutesbury. Students living outside of these towns must be picked up, or dropped off at a home in one of these towns with parental permission.
Security: UMass police will be on duty. Parent volunteers will assist in setting up and guarding the venue before the party. Volunteer parent security patrols will be present throughout the night.
Guests: The party is given by parents for graduating seniors from Amherst Regional High School. Each senior is welcome to bring one guest in grades 11 or 12; a guest registration fee of $35 is required. Seniors and their guests must arrive together. Guests may leave earlier than their host, but may not stay later than their host. All guests must be registered by their host in advance (will require signature of both guest and a parent/guardian of the guest).
First Aid: Medical personnel will be available at all times for any medical needs or emergencies. All medications to be taken during the party must be dropped off at the First Aid tent and picked up when leaving. Medication doses must be taken at the First Aid tent. The only exceptions are “rescue” treatments like inhalers and EpiPens. Please notify us of your child’s medical needs on the Registration Form. Updates can be provided by contacting organizers in advance at email@example.com. All parents, by signing the registration form, indicate their availability by telephone in the event of a medical emergency.
Evacuation Plan: The Mullins Center staff have an evacuation plan to ensure an orderly removal of all participants from the premises in the unlikely event that this is necessary. In such an event, all shuttle volunteers will be called in immediately to provide rides home for all participants. However, by signing the registration form as a parent, you agree to be available by phone during the night if it becomes necessary to ask parents to provide transportation home.
